Your favorite Missionary blogs...again

A long time ago in a galaxy not so far away. Ok this same galaxy. I had a blog. But then I had a baby and I lost him. I had another baby and she consumed my life. (in the best way possible) I got overwhelmed with life and I abandoned ship on my blog. To be honest, I kind of doubt anybody reads them anymore. But I'm going to try this again anyway. Super upbeat way to start off right? 

I'm cool assuming you all know me going into this but just in case you stumbled upon this thing and don't know me...what are you doing here? No, but seriously.

My name is Kathryn but most people call me Kat. Nobody who knows me well calls me Kathy. NOBODY. 

We like each other so much we got married twice.
For our 15th anniversary we renewed our vows.

I have been mostly happily married for 15 years to my best friend Jose. Together we are pastors and church planters in Piura, Peru. We have been here for 9 years. I'm sure you've never heard of Piura (sounds like pure-uh but roll the r if you can) If you look at a map of Peru we are almost in Ecuador. 

Here, I'll show you.

   We are also the parents of Logan, Timothy and Zoe Lopez. These 3 will be featured regularly in my posts.

Logan is an aspiring comedian. I'm sure he will do great because he is almost as funny as I am. 

Timothy is an aspiring astrophysicist...wait no, film maker. But he's 13 and just started 10th grade. On his own. I assign the work. He completes it faster than I can assign it. He originally planned to graduate at 16 but now he's thinking next year some time. Help me Lord he's the smartest person I know.

Zoe is my rainbow. Before she was born I had a baby named Caleb. He was born full term and lived 33 hours and 5 minutes before he went home to Jesus. One day I will share that story here. After 3 boys I was surprised to hear I was pregnant with a girl. I had not tried to get pregnant and truthfully I was scared to have another child. But God knew our family wasn't complete. Rainbow baby is the term used for children born after the loss of a child or pregnancy. Something beautiful that comes after the storm. Sometimes it feels like our lives had no color until she came along. We didn't know what we were missing. She is the definition of precocious and lives up to her name. 

It's fitting that she is a rainbow baby.
